Looking for the best Fortnums Wedding Band? Read on..

This weekend was so good. We were lucky enough to play as a Melbourne Wedding Band at two amazing events! The first was the amazing Wedding of Melissa and Ronan at Fortnums in Sassafrass. Lexi, Noah, and Rachel (our core band members) played as a 3 Piece Acoustic Trio. In other words, a mini band! All three of us are Lead Singers in this line up! The night went so well. Fortnums is an awesome little wedding venue located in the Dandenong’s. We arrived quite early to do the bump in, otherwise known as the ‘load in’. We put up our PA speakers and got to work!

Noah is a relatively new member of Celestial Band. He’s originally from New York and is just a damn good musician. He will be featuring as the Lead Male singer/ guitarist alongside Lexi Ross for the remainder of 2020 at least. Probably beyond too, let’s face it… Hopefully you will be able to witness Noah’s amazing singing and playing, if you come to our next live showcase!

Best Bridal Entrance Songs!

Melissa and Ronan decided to enter their wedding Reception about 30 minutes early and it was amazing to see the whole bridal party enter. We played “I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross for the bridal party entrance song. Then we played the chorus of ‘Love Shack’ when the bride and groom entered. ‘Love Shack’ is such an awesome tune to get the parry started! After that the guests were already dancing, so transitioned into an upbeat version of ‘Valarie’. The MC said a few formalities and then asked everyone to be seated for their entrees. As a 3-person mini band, we then kicked of our first chilled set. We played chilled tunes such as ‘Don’t Know Why’ by Norah Jones and ‘Change the World’ by Eric Clapton. Among lots of other goodies! In our 3-person mini band, we take it in turn to sing. With all three of us having the opportunity to sing throughout the night.

After the entrees there were a few short speeches and we got on with our next few sets. We played lots of midtempo numbers while the guests were having dinner. Some of these included ‘Sucker’ by the Jonas Brothers and ‘Electric Feel’ by MGMT. As a band, we love to mix up our sets with old classic songs, and super modern songs. We are always learning new cover songs. We love performing stuff by The Weeknd and Jonas Brothers! After that there were some special pre-recorded speeches played off a projector. The speeches were just lovely and there was barely a dry eye in the house!

At this particular wedding there wasn’t a lot of formalities and speeches. Due to starting early we ended up playing three of our 45-minute sets in the first half of the night. The lovely couple asked if we could do an extra set in the second last hour. This was totally fine, and we’re always happy to help in whatever way we can. We ended up doing a grand total of five 45-minute sets for the night. The last two were uptempo dancefloor sets. We played ‘7 Nation Army’ by The White Stripes, ‘Uptown Funk’, ‘Eagle Rock’, all the classic hits!

We went right through until the end of the night as a Fortnums Wedding Band and finished by getting the remaining guests into a Farewell Circle. The point of this is so that the Bride can go around clockwise, and the Groom can go around anticlockwise. They say goodbye to their guests in the middle of the circle. We finished the night off with a rendition of ‘All Night Long’ by Lionel Richie. This song is definitely a personal favourite!

Fortnums Wedding Band

At 11pm it was time to finish, and the three of us worked as a team to pack up our stuff. It was so much fun being the Fortnums Wedding Band for the night! Surprisingly the PA system only took 35-40 minutes to completely pack up and put in the Jeep! We usually allow at least our hour before a wedding is due to start, to set up. Then we expect another 40 minutes to an hour, to pack up at the end of the night.

All in all, Melissa & Ronan’s wedding was awesome, and we had such a great time performing! The guests looked like they had a ball too. It was a perfect size crowd, and we had a relaxed and fun night!

Watch Our Mini Band Play Live In Melbourne

If you’d like to find out more about our 3 Piece Acoustic Trio or Mini Band, speak to Lexi Ross today. Lexi, Noah and Rachel are the core band members at Celestial Band. Rachel has been working with Lexi since the beginning at Celestial Band. We just really love playing together! If you hire us as a Trio, you’ll get not one, not two, but THREE Lead singers. All of us are Soloists and sing lead vocals. You’ll also have Drums, Guitar and Keyboard in your mini band. That’s enough instruments and voices to get your guests up on the dance floor. Hey, we can always play ‘7 Nation Army’ by the White Stripes to get your guests hyped! As a band, we had a large live showcase in January this year (2021). Our next live showcase will be in July 2021, more details to come about that!
