OOOooohh it’s so much fun going to an event with a live band, and it’s so important to find the right function band hire Melbourne.
It’s been some interesting times for the musicians at Ms Lexi & Celestial Band, we’ve had our fair share of postponements due to COVID 19 restrictions in Melbourne, but have been gratefully booking in lots of new events across 2021 and 2022.
The bottom line is that it’s never too early to secure your live entertainment for that all important Birthday, Anniversary or Engagement Party. We most commonly perform as a 4 or 5 person party band.
In our four piece band you’ll get the world class vocals of two main singers, two different types of guitar, and a dedicated drum player pumping out the beat!
With our 5-person party band, you’ll get the above set up, but you’ll also have our dedicated Sax player! In the music world, the saxophone is considered an extra voice in a band. It gives you that nice snazzy, jazz sound, and really adds to the volume of the band. Our Sax player will play key riffs and melodies. They’ll also ‘noodle’ during our songs, which is another way to describe improvising and adding little melodies for an amazing effect.
During a standard 5-6 hour function, we’ll usually play 4 X 45 minute sets, but we can reduce or increase the number of sets depending on the length of your function and the formalities you have planned.
Check out our Song list to get an idea of what we play. We’ve carefully curated our music so that there are songs in there from many different eras. You’ll see music from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s. In terms of style, again we’ve gone for a mix of styles, everything from old school rock and roll, country, pop, jazz, soul, and R&B hits!
Function Band Hire Melbourne
A large part of our repertoire is dedicated to upbeat tunes. It’s very important for us as a band to get all of your guests up on the dancefloor. The first set or two of the night will usually be more chilled music, think ‘dinner music’, and our final 2 sets will be dancefloor hits unless you request something different. You’ll be satisfied with our amazing live music at your function, and your guests will have a great time dancing.
If you’re planning a downsized event in 2021 or 2021, we have some other live music options you may want to consider. You could have a Soloist, either Lexi with vocals and keys, or one of our lead male performers with acoustic guitar. If you want a little more than a Soloist, you could consider our Acoustic Duo. Our Acoustic Duo is two voices (male and female) with a guitar. If you’re wanting guaranteed dancing, and the full sound of a live band, then our 4-piece band is a great place to start.
