Last week all the musicians from Miss Lexi and Celestial Band spent some time individually learning, recording and filming a cover version of Vance Joy’s ‘Lay It On Me’ for our first exciting IsoJam video!

For our latest IsoJam project we used the musical power of our 5 piece wedding band, including our Saxophone player, Pete. We chose the song “Lay It On Me’ because it’s a a solid and catchy Australian tune, made famous by Vance Joy. We used Garage Band to record all the vocals and instrumental parts. Then each musician made a little video clip of themselves playing their part with their phone. We used the video editing program called Filmoral9 to bring all the little clips together in 6 small squares. The final product was pretty cool! Even though we’re unable to play in live Melbourne at the moment, we were able to make an interesting video that showcases the skills of us as wedding singers and musicians.
As one of the best wedding bands in Melbourne, we’ve had lots of time on our hands to learn songs, upskill and just chill out before there’s a rush of people wanting to get married post the COVID19 lockdown. As well as being a popular wedding music band, we provide live music for event, be it a birthday party or corporate function. Most of our gigs are in Melbourne, but we are available to travel to greater Victoria and interstate on request. So long as it goes ahead, our next live showcase is planned for January 17th at the Melbourne Showgrounds for the Wedding and Bride Expo. We will be one of the Melbourne wedding bands featured. We’ll be set up all day and have some great special offers available for couples that choose us to provide live music for their wedding!
We hope everyone is staying safe throughout these strange times. Although we may not be performing at your wedding or special event right now, just know that we’re still here practicing and doing little things to make sure that as soon as we can perform live again, we’ll be at the top of our game. Our heart goes out to any engaged couples that haven’t been able to have their dream wedding this year. Just know that if you choose to be your wedding band, we will do everything we can to make sure its special and amazing!
