We are super excited to be performing at the January 17th Melbourne Wedding and Bride Expo at the Melbourne Showgrounds! Our band will be among 150 top wedding suppliers available there on the day.
As Melbourne’s best wedding music band, Ms Lexi & Celestial Band delivers regular showcases to the public. When we perform live as a band, we like to really put on a show, so today we are going to go through the preparation we’ve done for Melbourne Wedding & Bride Expo. After all the organising we do, we really sympathise with our wedding couples. Planning a wedding is a massive task, and planning our live showcases is a similarly big task for us!
First and foremost, we’ve been on tenterhooks about whether this expo was actually going to go ahead, due to the COVID 19 situation. Well luckily, with one week still to go, and no new daily cases in Melbourne, it is going ahead! We pride ourselves on being Melbourne’s most professionally run wedding band, so for this expo, we are planning on going all out.
All Things Expo… Yarra Valley Wedding Band
Firstly, for the aesthetic on the day, we’ve had two specially designed pull up banners made with our logo, pictures and contact information on them. Along with that we’ve got a double-sided flyer to give to people on the day. The flyers have our very exclusive Special Offers on them. These will only be valid for couples that book us after attending the expo. These are:

As well as having this promotional material, we’re also going to have Song lists available, and enquiry forms that the band members will write down couple’s details on the day. We’re also going to have a big glass bowl full of individually wrapped chocolates to give away. We’re going to have a plasma screen setup, and on it will be all of our band videos running in the background. People that pass by the stall will be able to see us perform live, and they can stand back and watch the videos on the TV monitors. Oh, and we’ll have a nice tablecloth that matches the banner design colours.
Live Wedding Music Band
Inside the stall, we’ll also have our music PA set up. This is because we need sound for our four live music time slots on the day. During three of these showcase times, we’ll be playing as a 5piece band. The other time slot will be for our Acoustic Duo. The tunes we’re playing are a range of popular wedding music band songs. Stuff you would expect a band to play at your wedding! We have Elvis Presley on our list, we also have some modern hits by Billie Eilish and Tones and I. We can’t give away all of our secrets, so the rest will have to be a surprise for you on the day!
Rehearsals
Part of our preparation for the expo has been to get the whole band together for a rehearsal. On the day, we’ll have Lexi Ross as the female Lead Singer, and Lead Male singer/ guitar player Noah singing some songs. Finally, we’ll also have our singing drum player Pete, also singing a couple of tunes!
Just like our wonderful couples when they are planning a wedding, we have lots of small errands to run for this expo. Lexi Ross will be dressed in a beautiful gown from preferred supplier Her Style AU in Ivanhoe. We have also had to get all of our music gear tagged and tested for compliance at the Showgrounds. Aside from that, there is endless small things to do like get Hi-Viz safety vests from Bunnings, get our eyelashes done, get our nails done…
